Barbuzzo - Philadelphia

After contemplating which restaurant to try out for restaurant week, Sherry and I decided to go Barbuzzo, a cozy, long and narrow Mediterranean kitchen and bar belonging to the same group of restaurants as Lolita, Jamonera and others. I don't think we could've made a better decision, and restaurant week was the perfect time to visit the restaurant -not only for the perfect mix of prix fixe dishes they offered, but also for the chance to get off campus for a good meal in between management class and Sherry's mandarin presentation! The ambiance was rustic and busy, with white brick walls, wooden floors and tables set barely a foot apart... But the food definitely ranked in as one of my favorite meals in Philly!

And did I mention that the budino itself was worth the whole trip?!

Sheep's milk ricotta with sherry soaked figs, extra virgin olive oil, vin cotto, herbs and sea salt
Sicilian style bronzino with farro and tomato-almond pesto & Pizza with fior di latte, fennel sausage, basil, olives and pecorino

The infamous, sinfully decadent salted caramel budino with dark chocolate crust, vanilla bean caramel and sea-salt
