Lemon Hill - Philadelphia

Easter brunch with the amazing Esther at a quirky little restaurant in Fairmount, Lemon Hill :)

Melt-in-your mouth buttermilk biscuits with creamy mustard greens and poached eggs drenched in dirty hollandaise sauce with a side of Andouille sausages and bacon-pepper jam.

Thai Singha House - Philadelphia

Christine & Mikee at Thai Singha

So these photos were quite a while back after we finished the third quarter and right before we departed to our destinations for spring break. We had finally decided to go to get some thai food after the whole day we spent together eating (lunch at Vic, froyo at Yogorino, and homemade cheesecake & nutella brownie bites courtesy of Christine & Jen). After so much food that day, we decided to share a few dishes: the papaya salad (crisp & refreshing), pad thai (a classic you can't get wrong) and green chicken curry with rice.

I've been longing for some good thai food, but haven't exactly found one yet that is authentic by Asian standards. I tried out Pattaya the other day with a few friends and one of my professors for lunch and learn (ordered a huge, greasy plate of drunken noodles). I thought it was alright, but think that Thai Singha was slightly better in terms of the food quality. A fellow foodie also recommended for me to try another restaurant, Smile Cafe (22 & Chestnut), that he claims to be the best out of the three. Can't wait to try it out sometime in the future! I need some good old mango sticky rice -PRONTO!

Cafe Lift - Philadelphia

It was a perfect Saturday for a nice brunch outing with my favorite foodie girls ;) Wanting to explore some new, intensely foodgawked places, we took a taxi down to Cafe Lift, failing to anticipate the long wait we were about to embark on empty, whining stomachs. After mishearing the host calling the names of the people wait-listed ahead of us multiple times, it was finally our turn to order up and eat! Overall, it was, without a doubt, worth the wait!

Barbuzzo - Philadelphia

After contemplating which restaurant to try out for restaurant week, Sherry and I decided to go Barbuzzo, a cozy, long and narrow Mediterranean kitchen and bar belonging to the same group of restaurants as Lolita, Jamonera and others. I don't think we could've made a better decision, and restaurant week was the perfect time to visit the restaurant -not only for the perfect mix of prix fixe dishes they offered, but also for the chance to get off campus for a good meal in between management class and Sherry's mandarin presentation! The ambiance was rustic and busy, with white brick walls, wooden floors and tables set barely a foot apart... But the food definitely ranked in as one of my favorite meals in Philly!

And did I mention that the budino itself was worth the whole trip?!
